Benton Park School in Rawdon to remain closed because of roof.
Health and safety concerns because of the roof in the main teaching block have forced the authorities of Benton Park School of Rawdon to close down the school for a week. The school initially announced on the website that it would remain closed for a day because of the problem with the roof caused by ongoing high winds. The message was also played on the voicemail of the school.
In an update later during the day, the website stated that the City Council has advised to close down the site for a longer period. Headteacher Delia Martin said in a statement that there are potential risks and the school will reopen only after stabilizing the situation and repair work. The students will get regular homework from the school during that time.
